Kevin J. Berg, M.D., FAAFP
- Program Director - Mountainside Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr. Berg is a faculty physician at Mountainside Family Practice Group and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He has Certificates of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Berg is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship at CentraState Medical Center. Dr. Berg is a Core Assistant Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and General Practice at St. George’s University, Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and Clinical Instructor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His interests include geriatrics, hospice and palliative medicine, and LGBTQIA+ health.

Everett W. Schlam, M.D.
- Assistant Director Mountainside Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr. Schlam is a graduate of the Rutgers Medical School – Camden. He is an alumnus of the Mountainside Family Medicine Residency who served as a Chief Resident. He completed a fellowship in Faculty Development at The Institute for Urban Family Health and obtained a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and Adolescent Medicine. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor - Department of Family Medicine, New Jersey Medical School and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and -School of Osteopathic Medicine. He’s also Chair and Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and General Practice at St. George’s University School of Medicine. Dr. Schlam is a Core Assistant Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. His interests include adult Immunization, geriatrics and sports sedicine.

AnnGene Anthony, M.D., MPH, FAAFP
- Faculty Attending Mountainside Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr. Anthony is a graduate of Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). She completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Brown University/Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island Family Medicine residency program. In addition, she also completed a Master’s degree in Public Health and a fellowship in Faculty Leadership Development at Brown. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a a Core Assistant Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and General Practice at St. George’s University Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Rutgers – NJMS, and Assistant Professor Robert Wood Johnson. She serves as Co-Associate Clerkship Director in family medicine for Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. Her interests include , women’s health (non-OB), procedural medicine and chronic disease management.

Preethi George, M.D., FAAFP
- Associate Program Director Mountainside Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr. George attended Miraj Medical College and completed her residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. George is an Assistant Professor and Clerkship Director in the Department of Family Medicine and General Practice at St. George’s University. She is also a Core Assistant Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine; and, Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and Clinical Instructor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Her interest includes community outreach and public health, nutrition and excercise, addiction, Research.

Valery Vera-Connolly, M.D.
- Faculty Attending Mountainside Family Practice Residency Program
Dr. Valery Vera-Connolly received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Seton Hall University and her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and General Practice at St. George’s University. Dr. Vera-Connolly directs our family medicine women’s services and serves as Mountainside Family Practice Group quality champion. Her interests includes primary care of underserved populations, women's health, child and adolescent medicine, and healthcare quality improvement.

Jennifer Yu, PsyD
- Faculty Attending Mountainside Family Practice Residency Program
Dr. Yu is a graduate of Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology (Yeshiva University), where she earned a combined Psy.D. in school and clinical psychology. She also holds a Master's in Special Education and taught secondary special education in Chicago prior to pursuing her doctoral degree. Dr. Yu specializes in the treatment and evaluation of children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She has worked with a range of culturally and diagnostically diverse individuals in a variety of settings, including schools, outpatient clinics, and inpatient hospitals. In addition to receiving training at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, Dr. Yu completed her pre-doctoral internship at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY and her post-doctoral fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining the faculty here at Mountainside Family Medicine Residency Program, she was the integrated pediatric psychologist at a pediatric clinic in her home state of Massachusetts, where she provided behavioral health consultation, risk assessment/crisis management, and brief psychotherapy to children, parents, and families. Dr. Yu believes in using an integrative, individualized approach with her clients. Above all, she values attention to each individual’s needs, fostering of the therapeutic alliance, and flexibility in therapy. She is passionate about supporting the social-emotional well being of medical students and residents, as well as fostering their knowledge and use of behavioral health concepts and techniques in order to better support the patients whom they serve.
