How do I apply to the HackensackUMC Mountainside Family Medicine Residency?

Applications must be submitted through ERAS at www.aamc.org/students/eras. Our ACGME Program I.D. # is 1203311193.

What is the criteria for applying to HackensackUMC Mountainside Family Medicine Residency Program?

Faculty use a multi-faceted approach that considers life experiences, medical school performance, diversity, service to community, professionalism and interpersonal skills. In addition, all Applicants must pass the USMLE Step I and Step II-CK Exam or COMLEX Level I, and Level II.

Do you consider year of graduation when accepting applications?

Applicants must have graduated within the preceding 3 years.

Is U.S. Clinical Experience a must?

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of United States hospital clinical experience.

Do you accept international graduates and is there different criteria for international graduates?

Yes, we accept international graduates. The criteria is the same for all applicants.

Does your hospital sponsor visas?

No, this program is open to those who have permanent resident status or U.S. citizenship.

What is the deadline for applications?

Our deadline is December 1.

What are your requirements for Letters of Recommendation?

We require three (3) Letters of Recommendation before your interview date. None of the letters should be from family members.


Interview Scheduling

Are your interviews in person?

No. All interviews during the recruitment season will be conducted virtually only.

When are invitations for interview sent out?

Invitations to interview will be sent out mid-October through mid-December.

When do you conduct interviews?

Interviews will be conducted Monday-Friday at 12:30pm-2:30pm or 2:35pm-4:35pm. Beginning on October 15th. Interviews will conclude the end of January 2025.
